2018 has been amazing for Neu Entity. Towards the end of last year, we moved into our current studio. We began the year at a brand new place.
Of course, like any other businesses, there were the ups and downs and, I’d be lying if I said there were no downs.
If I wanted to tell you the story of my journey in Neu Entity, that would be too long so without further ado, here’s what happened in 2018.
We started the year with the 3 of us and during that time, we had an intern. We didn’t bully the intern, of course. If you are reading this, hi, Faatih!
We did our first collaborative video with the lawyer, Mr Abdul Rahman and that’s when we realized that people actually liked educational content. In this case, it was about the legalities with creative industry and this piece of content wasn’t just for creatives. It was also for business owners because it helped them understand what’s really at stake.
In fact, we learned quite a fair bit from our lawyer friend.
Along the way, we made a few business partners but not all of them worked out. With that said, just a reminder to everyone, you should always learn more or rather do a background check with whom you are planning to work with and ensure they are on the same frequency as you.
We’ve been to way more events than we ever had in previous years and made so many new connections.
However, it wasn’t all ups. Like I mentioned earlier.
Faatih had to go back to school. We lost a team member and we had to quickly make up for it. We went back to just 2 of us and grew to 3. And then, 4 and 5.
Our team is stronger and bigger now and for the first time, we had our first quarterly company lunch OUTSIDE of Singapore.
We acquired new clients and we also lost some clients. Those are some things any businesses will have to go through but the part where we lose clients that we really care for and believe in their purpose, that really hurts. It’s like going through a heartbreak, y’know.
But, life goes on… and things are looking up.
We managed to secure and partner on a project with our UX partner, Geddit and we are now on to starting something new with what we’ve established with both Fitri and Rafiq from Geddit.
The most important thing about running a business is to always keep looking forward and in October 2018, Neu Entity announced a new CEO; me.
So, now that 2018 is coming to an end, we have to realign ourselves and prepare for 2019.
New goals, new strategies and try more new things.
We will also be embarking on another project with another partner of ours, tokuAsia Pictures. Things are already moving quickly and I’m pretty stoked about this project because this is really something new for Neu Entity. I hope you guys will like it too!
This coming January, we will have one new intern and hopefully, 2 more new members to add to the team. I am already in the process of interviewing and I can’t wait for 2019. It’s going to be exciting!
To all our clients, partners and friends, thank you for supporting us and going on this journey with us.
Have a great 2019!
